Intelligent loudness maximizer and brickwall limiter with dithering. dB-L boosts the volume of your final mix. Typical mixes (which have already been normalized to 0dB) can usually be boosted by between 6 & 12dB without any problems. dB-L can also be used as a brickwall limiter. Stick it on the end of a chain of effects to guarantee your output does not exceed 0dB (or whatever level you set), no matter how hard you push the input. Also useful for generating heavy pumping compression effects on drum tracks etc. With optional 16 bit dithering (normal or noise-shaped) for creating CD masters, 64 bit internal accuracy, and support for sample rates up to 24bit/96kHz, this is a truly professional loudness maximizer and mastering limiter.

dB-M multiband limiter:
Wideband mastering limiters like dB-L can sound a bit rough when pushed hard. dB-M is an alternative mastering tool for fine-tuning the dynamics and loudness of your mix. If you’ve heard of the benefits of multi band processing, but don’t understand how it works, then give dB-M a try. The graphical interface shows you exactly what’s the multi band algorithm is doing, in realtime. dB-M has a wide range of applications. As well as being a highly effective loudness maximiser, it can also… tame the volume of a loud kickdrum in the final mix without affecting the tonal quality of the mids & highs… even out the volume of a bass guitar in the mix while leaving the vocals untouched… compress the lows & mids of a guitar track while leaving the sparkling highs intact… And because dB-M uses our proprietary intelligent lookahead algorithms, you will never hear distortion, even when using extreme settings!

dB-D dynamics processor:
Compressor, limiter, expander, gate and brickwall limiter with true sidechains dB-D is a pro quality general purpose dynamics plugin. The intuitive realtime interface shows you exactly what’s going on, and with advanced features like autogain makeup, variable soft knee, and accurate metering with peak hold, it offers you superb control over the sound. The unique side chain feature (which requires a multi track application like Cubase or Cakewalk) lets you perform tricks like ducking and synchronized gating, normally only possible with external hardware. The no-distortion brickwall limiter in the output stage means you can experiment with ANY settings (even huge gain values and long attack times) without fear of blasting your speakers! dB-S de-esser:
Multi-mode dynamic EQ dB-S is an intelligent EQ module which dynamically removes sibilance (those irritating distorted “ssss”, “shhh” and “tttt” sounds) from vocal recordings without altering the character of the voice. dB-S can transparently de-ess individual vocal tracks, or vocals sitting in a final stereo mix. The realtime graphic display helps you tune into and remove sibilant frequencies with ease. Choose from 3 algorithms for removing the sibilance, wideband (like a traditional studio de-esser), lowpass (attenuate the high frequencies of your choice) or narrowband (attenuate a tuned band of frequencies).

dB-T tempo delay (FREE):
In 1997, db audioware released the original freeware VST plugin, Tempo Delay. This simple stereo echo had one unique feature, it let you enter delays in beat measures instead of milliseconds. dB-T tempo delay is our latest incarnation of this ever popular plugin. Solo Frame Drum represents one of the most widespread and versatile families of drums – with a history crossing through ancient Middle East, India, Rome and through a variety of Islamic cultures. The Frame Drum defined by the simple characteristic that the width of the drumhead is greater then its depth, but besides from that the Frame Drum comes in thousands of variations. It is known for its distinct sustained sound and its multi-resonant qualities.

The Frame Drum is traditionally tuned with straps or lugs, while others are permanently set at a fixed pitch. Many also incorporate beads, rattles, cymbals, jingles, rings, bells, snares or other accessories, to augment the primary sound and add specialized auxiliary articulations. Some are played with hands, while others use thin sticks, thick bones, soft mallets, combs, brushes and other specialized tools to produce a huge range of unique musical tones and effects. Some members of the Frame Drum family may even lack a striking head and rely entirely on rattles or other elements to produce their sound.

The 8DIO “Solo Frame Drums” library contains 2 styles of Irish Bodhrán, one African Tar drum and a North American tribal buffalo hide shamanic drum. We captured them in a close dry studio setting, covering both traditional and expanded playing styles and articulations. The first Bodhrán is nearly 3 feet wide, with a massive low end much like a concert bass drum. The second is a deep shelled medium sized drum with powerful, clear tonality. The smallest, a tar drum, has a crisp, sharp ring. Our Buffalo drum has a flat, tight sound with a massive subsonic bass blast.

The library is truly covers the traditional sound of resonating frame drums. The library was also designed to be used in conjunction with our “Epic Frame Drums” library, which is focused on capturing big sound ensemble frames and over 1.100 loops. The two libraries makes the perfect couple, since “Solo Frame Drums” covers some of the more intimate and deep sounds – where “Epic Frame Drums” covers more that brutal, big, bad-ass type of sound used in epic scores.

The aim of the project is to make the concert organ from Litomysl (Grygar, 2001) available for the Hauptwerk software sampler. This modern organ is large enough (4 manuals + pedal, 51 sounding stops) to fit the needs of any organ music style, early Spanish music, French or German romantic music, German baroque, XXth century music or anything else you can imagine. The organ was sampled very accurately on 1:1 basis using professional digital equipment of the 24bit/48kHz resolution. The stereo O.R.T.F. norm was used as the recording technique. Each tone of each stop has been captured several times to assure the best possible results. Long samples up to 9 seconds were taken.

Ambiental recording was employed, mics were placed some 13 m apart from the instrument, roughly one third of the length of the church building away from the instrument, suspended high in the air (in the height of the prospect pipe mouths). This ensures very detailed and present sound while the acoustics of the building are preserved very faithfully.

The Kinderklavier is an iconic sound found in commercials, TV, soundtracks and pop music. From cute and innocent, dark and twisted, to pop and rock, Kinderklavier is a truly versatile library. This Kinderklavier was deep sampled and close-mic’ed to capture all it’s subtle nuances. As usual, we deeply sampled the instrument, every single 25 notes with 8 round robin and an average of 6 velocity layers per note. The keys of the Kinderklavier had such unique character that we had to multi-sample and include them as release triggers with multiple round robin and velocity layers.

In addition to our standard deep sampling, the Kinderklavier was beaten with sticks and mallets, dismantled, probed, strummed and tortured in just about as many ways as we could think of, creating a variety of effects sounds. After extracting all usable sounds, we decided to push the library further by creating a set of tuned, deep ambiences. Topping off the library is a complete set of custom controls tuned for each patch and our own custom reverb with 46 unique impulses to choose from.

Details: The Kinderklavier library includes custom front-panel controls and modwheel automation to allow pitch adjustment of up to +/- 6 octaves. Attack and release knobs are included allowing you to really sculpt the sound. An offset knob also allows you to cut into the samples, creating unique effects. The samples have been stretched up and down the entire keyboard and we’ve included a “Natural Range” button to constrict the playable key range to just the original 25 keys of the kinderklavier.

The included Convolution Reverb effect features 46 select custom impulse responses recorded from some of our favorite locations. Among those are also fx impulses which are more special effect than reverb.
