Radiologik is a system suitable for both live DJing and 24/7 radio automation on the Mac that uses iTunes as its database and iTunes playlists as the logical building blocks for sophisticated programming. Radiologik was developed for and is used in LPFMs, NCE-FM, college and high school stations, and online stations. You get one more 4th audio output meant for off air used by the library player for previewing and properties player for editing ramp, start, stop, overlap, etc.

More players for every purpose
For live assist playing you can run more manually and then you can run the 3rd player as you wish using the spot list. You also get a 20 player palette for short jingles and sound effects with 20 saved sets for different segments and DJs.

Resourceful live DJing
There’s a library you can use to keep either a selection of your iTunes library by keyword or the entire library and search it for requests or sort for an exact time fit song or perfect long ramp so you can do a long talk-in. It will typically import 10,000 in just over 15 seconds or keyword import 1,000 songs from a 15,000 iTunes library in 2 seconds.

On-job training details
There are details like if you drag a song into DJ’s queue, it brings itself to the front and selects that song to do with it whatever you like. If you have auto off, DJ brings itself to the front as you get within 20 seconds of the ending of a song. Dialogs that would interfere with operation are used very sparingly. The idea is to keep it simple enough that you won’t mess up on air when you’re really thinking about other things like what you’re going to say.

File formats, normalizing, transitions
Radiologik DJ plays mp3, AAC (including protected), Apple Lossless, AIFF, and WAV files. It can be set to obey iTunes Sound Check values and use a more advanced loudness gain tool such as iVolume to set those. For the right radio sound you can edit properties of each track for start, stop, ramp, overlap, fade-in, and fade-out and those values are stored with the audio file even if it moves from Mac to Mac.

• -> Patch 01-02 – Sustained Wineglass (Glassharmonica):
• I sampled every halfstep from f2 – b4. But I then further extended the instrument from c2 up to e5 for better playability. 1 velocity layer, but you can control the volume either by velocity or modwheel. Each sample is about 25 seconds long (!) and looped.

-> Patch 03-04 – Wineglass hit with an iron fork:

• I sampled 16 velocity layers and pitched them accros the whole playing range. There are 2 different patches.

-> Patch 05 Glass Piano V1:

• I created this patch by editing the start and attack parameters of each sample in Kontakt using the sustained samples. 1 velocity layer.

-> Patch 06-07 Glass Piano V2:

• A very aery almost synth like piano sound. I included 2 versions, one with 5 round robin samples and another one with no round robins. (so it sounds more “fixed”)

-> Patch 08 Warm Glass Pad:

• A bonus patch! It is a nice warm glass like pad-sound consisting of 3 velocity layers with 2rr each.

Titan V2 Line IN ELITE 192 khz For Nebula

This is part of the Titan V2 series but is also ELITE as I sampled it with the highest quality settings I am able to extract out of the hardware and my sampling tools. Superb upgrades on the original samplings with improved calibration, and size optimisation. This is the line input of my Vintage Lustraphone Helios module. Use an EQ before or after this baby to carve your sound further. I was in the throes of pre-mixing my a second album and after determining that I was going for an overall Helios sound, I realised that I was yet to sample the line input. I had made the Preamp available but the line in was not there. So I duly went about sampling it in an afternoon. There is one distinct difference between the line in and the Preamp.

The Line in has a gentle rolloff on the high end even when pushed. the preamp tends to have a lift in the same region when pushed. So they complement each other well. This sampling was done with the EQ engaged but flat and I also sampled the Bass settings at 60 hz, 120 hz, 250 hz and 400 hz. These were sampled with the Bass gain knob clicked in. It is the lowest setting when you engage the EQ on the low band but it actually adds about two dBs of gain. So that is what I sampled. The low end bump when the EQ is engaged and the bass knob is clicked in is what gives this module amazing low end warmth and vintage goo. So that gives five presets in total. This is THE Helios sound IMHO. Use judiciously with Kramer HLS or the UAD version and you will have a vintage sounding mix in no time. Place the emulation plugins before the nebula preset and prepare to smile as you tweak away – you can place it after too taste but if Nebula is last in the chain it gives more mojo IMHO. Wonderful distortion with a subtle levelling action, you may need to use some make up gain if you use high G-drive settings. Enjoy!!I surely am.

The ModTrix is an abbreviation for Modulation Matrix. This series of parameters controls the amount of modulation from a set of user definable modulators to the controls of user selected FX units. This means you can modulate the Flanger’s feedback settings with a pulse waveform, or sync the Glitch FX unit’s slicing frequency to a randomly resetting clock. You can have the bitdepth of the Bit Crusher FX unit rise and fall with a sinewave, or have the PitchShifter FX unit skipping octaves insanely using the impulse mix of Clock 2, etc. There are four different modulators available in the ModTrix. LFO 1, LFO 2, Clock 1, and Clock 2. All of which are extremely configurable to whatever the user desires. The ModTrix is a very powerful component of FX Lord, indeed.

Obviously FX Lord is not for everybody. For those less experienced, FX Lord will devour and confuse. However, for those true mad scientists of sound among you, FX Lord is a dream come true. Sure to bring hours of creative fulfillment never before experienced with lesser FX plug-ins. Turn a dry drumloop into a slithery percussive mutant, or a stale synthlead into a morphing warbly attention demanding deity. You’ll find that the only limit of FX Lord is your own imagination.
